And does He offer comfort
To the ones who are left behind?
Do they feel His Spirit lifting them
As He walks there at their side?
Do they know that He is with them
In every anquished cry;
That He feels the pain they suffer
When they ask the reason why?
Do they understand His Love for them
Will always see them through,
In every moment, every thought,
In all they say and do:
That every prayer they offer
With every passing day
He'll walk with them and talk with them
And guide them on their way.
Do the rescuers and volunteers
Know that He's always there
To help them and protect them
In the things that they must bear?
Can they see the Hands He's reaching out
To every troubled call -
In the carnage and the rubble
that towers above them all?
And do they know the kindness
In each heroic act
Is Gods unending Gift of Love
That helps them face each task?
For the human spirit knows no bounds
In moments of great need;
It's always there to lend a hand
In word, in thought and deed.
We thank you, Lord, for being there
To lead us by the hand
Before we act in anger
As we try to understand
Why there is so much hatred
In this world of ours today;
The terror we have witnessed
That will not go away
Why can't we live in peace, we ask,
Why must we go to war?
This isn't what we really want
When all is said and done.
Why does the need to take revenge
Live in the mind of men?
Dear Lord and Father of us all,
Please help us live again.
Let every leader hear Your Word,
Don't let them act in haste,
This world we love so very much
Cannot be laid to waste.
Please help them stand steadfast and strong
And not perform the act,
A war against humanity
From which they can't turn back.
Lend them Your Eyes so they may see,
Your Ears so they can hear
That love will always conquer hate
No matter what they fear.
Lord, lift them up and bless them
And help them make the choice
So everyone will hear Your Name,
One God, One Heart, One Voice.
No, It wasn't a coincidence
That number, nine one one,
A universal number meaning
"Help, Please come at once."
For as we dialed that number
It traversed the sands of time
And God with all His angels
Was waiting on the line.
And even through He cried for us
And bowed His Head in shame,
He knew that we were needing Him
And were not the ones to blame.
Be still and know that I Am God.
I will be with you yet
And as the days and years go by,
I'll help you to forget.
Was it just coinsidence,
That number ~ nine one one,
When the Earth stood still as terror reigned
And dark clouds hid the sun?
Did the Lord and Father of us all
hang down His head and cry
When he saw that hate personified
Had filled the morning sky?
Did His Hands reach out to every soul
As He gathered there above?
Did His Arms enfold them deep within,
Did He offer words of love?
Did He kiss away each fallen tear
And show them how to smile?
Did a league of angels standing by
Tell them to stay awhile?
